Grosset Springvale Watervale Riesling 2008
Made by Grosset in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 25th Sep 2009.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Very Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $31.99 - $42.99.
Looks: Very pale gold colour, more golden than many rieslings. Light in body.
Smells: Lifted citrus tones - orange and lemon
Feels: Light body
Tastes: The core of this wine is orange and lemon tones - perhaps with less acidity than previous years. A wine that is very very easy to drink and appreciate, but perhaps without the driving acidity or even some of the minerality of previous vintages. Length also is a little shorter than previous years. Having said all that, this is still such an approachable, drinkable wine that brings a smile to your face.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, Winestar, 1st Choice, Auction.
