Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2009
Made by Grosset in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 27th Sep 2009.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $39.99 - $55.99.
Looks: Very pale colour, almost with blue flashes in the wine. Light body
Smells: Wow. Love this - minerals hit the nose first, with a grapefruit and lime tone coming next and a steely end. Complex nose.
Feels: Light body
Tastes: A complex, fine yet powerful riesling. Once again my tasting note is full of contradictory statements - which is the sign of either indecision from me, or a great wine! A great mix of minerality and lime/grapefruit tones, with seering acidity giving great line. This gives way to a very mouthfilling talcum powder tone that helps to wine travel through your mouth. Finish is long long long. What an excellent wine. Will age like a champion.
