The Wilson Vineyard Handplunge Shiraz 2006
Made by The Wilson Vineyard in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 15% alcohol tasted on 19th Oct 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $34.95 - $36.95.
Looks: Very dark, black purple colour. Solid colour extraction
Smells: Very solid nose - with full fruit, licorice, coffee and spices
Feels: Full bodied - verging on monster
Tastes: A massively flavoured wine, but still complex. Fruit tones are mixed berries with lashes of mocha, pepper and a nice smokey tone. Long drawn finish, and fine lip smacking tannins. Although a big tasting wine, there is no real overt heat. Impressive, and great value.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
