Les Nuages Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Made by Les Nuages in France (region: Loire Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alcohol tasted on 15th Oct 2009.
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $12.99 - $14.99.
Looks: Very pale, green tinges colour and very light
Smells: Herby, green grass - but more subtle green than most say NZ Sav Blanc
Feels: Light
Tastes: A change up in style from New World Sauvignon Blanc in the cheaper price points. Still green grass dominates, however the grass is possibly not as ripe as New World. (love it, now we are talking about the ripeness of grass?) Fruit is not really the go here, but there is a herby spicey tone. Finish is dull and not really that interesting. Having said all that, I still find this style of wine more interesting than most new world Sauvignon Blanc.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars.
