Maker's Table Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Made by Saltram Wine Estate in Australia.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 13th Oct 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $12.99 - $14.99.
Looks: Red purple colour, with a medium body
Smells: Red and black fruit, a little confectionery like
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Ok, this is pretty much bulk wine. It is fair to say that it is drinkabe bulk wine, but there is no other way to describe this. Medium bodied, lolly like fruit sugars giving away to a thin core and not much finish with tannins next to non existant. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, except that this is priced just above most bulk wine and that there are plenty of better examples. A few years back I remember praising this label as punching above its weight - on this evidence, that is no longer the case.
Possible retailers: BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, 1st Choice.
