Two Churches Barossa Valley Shiraz 2008
Made by Austral Wines in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alcohol tasted on 12th Oct 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $11.99 - $15.99.
Looks: Dark red/purple, however not too deep, and on the very slightly higher end of medium bodied
Smells: Coffee and mocha, with a very slight sour element
Feels: High end of medium bodied
Tastes: Hmmmm. Normally, a little sour edge to a wine is no bad thing for me. However, this does not taste nice to me. The fruit is Barossa shiraz tasting - plummy, round, and with some mocha and choc tones. Length is not really on par with what it could be. Tannins are soft and entirely drinkable. But that sour edge...have to say, it detracts for me.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, 1st Choice.
