Peterson House Sparkling Verdelho 2006
Made by Peterson House in Australia (region: Adelaide Hills)
.
A dry, sparkling, white wine with 13.9% alcohol tasted on 12th Oct 2009.
Grape: Verdelho
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $24.30 - $27.00.
Looks: Nice gold colour, with a decent bubble although they are slightly larger than many premium sparkling
Smells: More fruit driven nose than many dry sparkling - fruit salad and toast
Feels: Medium bodied, with full fizz although as mentioned the bubble burst is a little larger
Tastes: A surprisingly good wine that is dryer and more fine in the mouth than its appearance suggests. In fact, this might be the first Peterson House wine I have had that might compete with finer champagnes - and it is made with Verdelho! It takes all sorts...length is good, there is a good tasty cage for the fruit salad tones, but this is definitely a dry wine. Well played Peterson House.
