Iron Gate Estate Verdelho 2006
Made by Iron Gate Estate in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13.1% alcohol tasted on 10th Oct 2009.
Grape: Verdelho
Quality: Okay
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $25.00 - $25.00.
Looks: Good golden colour, medium bodied
Smells: Fruit salad tones, with a slight creamy edge
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Fruit salad out of the gate, with that strange creamy edge. There is barely enough acid in the wine to hold it together and ensure that it is in balance, with this is certainly more mouthfilling and plush than crunchy with acid. Length is all fruit and is ok given the lack of acid. Certainly an easy drinker, and certainly a better example of Verdelho compared to many.
