Drayton's Estate Bottled Semillon 2008
Made by Drayton's in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 11% alcohol tasted on 9th Oct 2009.
Grape: Semillon
Quality: Very Good
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $20.00 - $20.00.
Looks: Very pale, almost water like in appearance with flashes of green and very light
Smells: Very green apples
Feels: Light
Tastes: Limey citrus and green apples, but not ripping in its acidity - actually very drinkable at this age whilst still being a real 'food' wine. Grab some seafood, grab some sun somewhere and have a fine time with this wine! It will age fine for a few years yet, and will develop some good toasty tones as well.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's.
