Yalumba Premium Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Made by Yalumba in Australia.
A dry, still, red wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 29th Oct 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Unpleasant
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $12.99 - $15.99.
Looks: Dark crimson red, not too purple, and medium bodied.
Smells: Ripe, cloying smell
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Bursts with ripe berry and plum, quite round and juicy, but gives way to a sour edge with 'cheap wine' tangy acid. Length is full and long, and tannins are actually chunky and interesting, but that ripe round tang is too much. Difficult to drink.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
