Yalumba Premium Selection Shiraz 2008
Made by Yalumba in Australia.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 30th Oct 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $12.99 - $15.99.
Looks: Bright red colour, medium bodied at most
Smells: Ripe round raspberry and plum tones
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: The pick so far of the Yalumba cask reds, and close to one of the next cask reds in general. The fruit is juicy not cloying, the oak is subtle and creates a little strucutre rather than flavour, length is good and tannins just gentle yet persistent. Very decent cask wine.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
