Patrick Limited Release Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Made by Patrick T Wines in Australia (region: Coonawarra)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 7th Nov 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $28.00 - $28.00.
Looks: Good dark purple colour - not totally opaque and still medium bodied
Smells: Complex - cigar box, smoke, bacon, black fruit
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: I hereby endorse this product. This is a Coona Cab in a style that is not often produced anymore. There is a serious lick of oak caging the black fruit in this wine, and it provides a smoky basis for containing the lovely black fruit and chewy tannins in this medium bodied style. It is not too much, it is not over the top. It is still a very balanced wine - but you can certainly taste it. And, it really does make the wine what it is. Good length rounds out a very food friendly wine (I think I have said that about all these Patrick wines!) Get some.
