Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Made by Howard Park in Australia (region: Great Southern)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 11th Nov 2009.
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $25.00 - $25.00.
Looks: Bright, clear and lightish looking - although not light for a Savvy Blanc
Smells: Intereting - nose is quite penetrative without having a lot of spread - both greenish and slightly 'cats pee' - although I have avoided that description for Savvy like the plague I finally use it!
Feels: Lightish
Tastes: Wow. Readers, here is a Sauvignon Blanc I would happily drink any day of the week. Lovely wine with greenish tinge of herb, however not grassy or aspargusy. Fruit is good with kiwi and lychee, but this is not really a fruity wine. Acidity is balanced but bracing with lime and mandarin citrus. Length is very good for this variety.
