Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Made by Howard Park in Australia (region: Great Southern)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 23rd Dec 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Outstanding
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $85.00 - $85.00.
Looks: Good vibrant purple colour, medium bodied to slightly fuller
Smells: Black fruit and undergrowth moistness
Feels: Medium to full
Tastes: A real grower of a wine, with black berry and slight tapanade tones at first, but giving way to a complex herby (good herb, not green herb) mid palate with some smokiness and a finish all velvet texture on the tongue. Tannins are superb in this wine. With 2 years on this, I want to drink again - with more, I think it will develop well but lose its burst on impact - depends on if that is your thing!
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Winestar, 1st Choice.
