Kirrihill Shiraz 2008
Made by Kirrihill Wines in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 15% alcohol tasted on 24th Dec 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Good
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $14.99 - $14.99.
Looks: Very dark purple colour, full bodied
Smells: Violets and slightly "spirity"
Feels: Full, brooding
Tastes: Clare Valley Shiraz has that distinctive blackcurrant and licorice edge, with firm gritty tannins and normally lots of colour. This ticks all those boxes, and adds a real line of acidic freshness and some nice length. Brilliant tasty wine for not much money at all.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
