Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2006
Made by Bannockburn in Australia (region: Geelong)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 12.5% alcohol tasted on 2nd Jan 2010.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Quality: Very Good
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $49.99 - $65.00.
Looks: Vibrant crimson colour, fairly deep for the style, but medium bodied
Smells: Lifted raspberry tone, with a real floral aspect
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: This is a lovely wine, that hints of greatness but perhaps lacks the real length to really be called great. At first it seems simple - all strawberry and raspberry - but there is a depth of cigar box already lurking.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice, Auction.
