Kooyong Ferrous Pinot Noir 2007
Made by Kooyong in Australia (region: Mornington)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 3rd Jan 2010.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Quality: Very Good
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $59.99 - $75.00.
Looks: Vibrant crimson colour, fairly lightly coloured, with medium body
Smells: Lifted raspberry and strawberry tones
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Some chewy tannin and some nice undergrowth elements elevate this pinot above the standard raspberry toned offering. The acidity is a nice match as well, and the length is mainly about the good slurp of acidity. Solid wine in the light raspberry with some drinkable green notes.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Auction.
