Kooyong Haven Pinot Noir 2007
Made by Kooyong in Australia (region: Mornington)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 4th Jan 2010.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Quality: Outstanding
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $59.99 - $75.00.
Looks: Nice medium bodied looking wine with a darker toned crimson colour than you would exoect
Smells: Meaty, lifted, interesting
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Wow, dark, brooding and moody this one! The fruit is there - dark cherry - but it is sitting back further in the wine than you would expect and the tannin, cigar box and dry spice tones probably are further up front. A nice meaty length makes this most interesting - and a really great drink.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Auction.
