Grosset Pinot Noir 2007
Made by Grosset in Australia (region: Adelaide Hills)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 6th Jan 2010.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Quality: Very Good
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $55.00 - $65.00.
Looks: Deepish red cherry colour, medium to full bodied
Smells: Roses and raspberry lollies
Feels: Medium to full bodied
Tastes: This is a wine that starts simple and fruity, and makes you wonder where the complexity is...and then it arrives, more a hint than anything else, of slight dry spice and a little licorice. Length is very good, and maybe a little more acidity would have balanced this more, but hard to complain about drinking this wine - it is fairly gluggable in a premium wine sort of way.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Auction.
