Coldstream Hills Chardonnay 2003
Made by Coldstream Hills in Australia (region: Yarra Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 23rd Mar 2005.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $19.00 - $24.00.
Looks: Bright yellow, fairly heavy looking in the glass.
Smells: Charry oak, with a little sweet smelling vanilla and straw. A slight tropical fruit follows. A persistent nose rather than a powerful one.
Feels: An oily, medium body.
Tastes: Loooonnnnggg. Nice wood balance with tropical pineapple fruit that lingers. Some nice round, buttery overtones follow to flesh out the balance. Really hides the alcohol well...but I think it is a sure early drinking style!
Possible retailers: BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Nick's Vintage Direct.
